    Well "Ginger" is a scooter but it's not powered by a Stirling Engine. "Ginger" or the Segway Human Transporter is a single person electronic self stabilizing scooter. With a top speed of around 17 mph and a range of about the same the scooter is interesting looking with it's 2 wheels. How this is a major advance over roller blades or even a bike in terms of urban mobility is unclear, well except for the fact that you have to do 0 work to make it go. Is it as cool as everyone was thinking it was going to be? Is it going to change how cities are built? Who knows. Check it out for yourself over at BBC News.

    The European Union has voted against a ban on funding for research on embryonic stem cells. This does not mean that they support cloning. The EU budget will set aside money for research on aborted fetuses or those left over from in vitro fertilization techniques. Read the story on CNN here.
