    40TH ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICAN MANNED SPACEFLIGHT

    On February 20, 1962, John Glenn boarded the Friendship 7 Mercury spacecraft and went up to become the first American to leave the atmosphere. He completed three orbits and was in space for nearly five hours. Way to go USA!!!
