1,000,000,000th COMPUTER SOLD
The One Billionth computer has been sold. According to Gartner Dataquest, a computer consultancy firm, the billionth personal computer was sold some time very recently, somewhere. It has taken over 25 years to reach this milestone, after the introduction of the Altair in 1975, widely regarded (though arguably) as the first PC. It is estimated that it will only take another five years or so to sell the second billion PCs.
