Welcome Blair Bazdarich!
If you’ve been listening to the show (and you have, right?) then you already know this, but we’d still like to publicly welcome Blair Bazdarich, former TWIS intern, as our official co-host! For a year and a half now she has been an enthusiastic and invaluable member of the TWIS team, and as of her return from herd 6-month trip to Israel earlier this year, has become a permanent fixture. We couldn’t be happier, and hope you are too.
TWIS Live
Catching TWIS live has been difficult since we moved to Google Hangouts, and for that we can never apologize enough. But we can certainly start to apologize properly by announcing that https://www.twis.org/live is fully armed and operational. Head to that page every Thursday at … er, well, around 8ish PM Pacfic, more or less? (Kai-Time may be in effect, we hope you can understand,) and you can join us for the live show. And don’t forget to sign in to the IRC chat, right on the same page. If we aren’t live for some reason, that’s the best place to find out what’s going on. Hope to see you there!
This Is TWIS
Kiki, Justin and Blair FINALLY met in person, all three together in the same place at the same time the other week, and somehow the universe didn’t end. They got some great photos that we’ll be featuring on the site soon, and they also took the opportunity to record a brand-new introduction to TWIS, which you can watch right here and find over on YouTube.
Don’t forget to click Like and favorite on the video, and of course subscribe to our YouTube channel!
Justin–
I love the cast, but–please–stop interrupting. When it is not your turn, let the material guide your interpretation–not every silence needs to be filled, or, filled with “It’s Blairs Animal Corner,..(kind of Bill Murrayesgue).” Just please do your stories. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Don Bailey
Hi Don, Justin’s been singing the Blair’s Animal Corner intro for a long while. It’s how we introduce her segment; it’s not just filling silence. Thanks for your comment!
My 2 cents – Justin does have the tendency to interrupt a bit much at times, but overall he provides a thoughtful and diverse perspective that perhaps a classically trained scientist mind may not think to connect. This exactly this kind of thinking can push the envelope and lead to new approaches and trigger new insights. He’s out there taking risks in every episode by sharing his speculations and humor, and to me, he provides a much needed wacky personality spark to the show that is critical to any good audio “infotainment”. Don’t change a thing Justin!
Plus Kirsten and Blair do a pretty good job of reigning him in when needed 😉
PS – the video isn’t working for me, Please fix it when you can. I’d love to see it 🙂
I would need more information about this. Contact me @arenlor and I’ll see what’s going on if I can.
